THANK YOU for responding to my suggestion last year for clarifying the questions & the process for entering a MRD from an inherited IRA.
What's great about it: I like being able to go back & forth between Views.

Turbo Tax 2012

Overall a great product, helps make tax prep a lot easier.
The only drawback for me personally is doing too much prep work for unnecessary items. By this I mean items such as Medical expenses where you figure out your expenses, doctors bills, eye wear, prescriptions etc and then get to the end and figure out that they are not high enough to get over the percentage allowable. For tax sections that have a threshold of some sort (e.g. a % of income, minimum dollar amount) The first question should always be "Did you have significant items in this category which would get you close to or over the threshold? If yes, or unsure continue down this path...
Instead of going down this path and getting done to find out an answer and then compare to the threshold to see that you weren't even close and this could have been estimated at the get go.

It's a friendly version to file your taxes. It's cheaper than having a tax preparer and you know exactly what you are typing on each line!

Turbo Tax is user friendly and guides you through step by step.
What's great about it: Having info from previous year carry over to the next year with Turbo Tax is a real time saver.
What's not so great: Intuit needs to have a field to allow free text if your donated item is not on their roster.

THE way to do taxes

I love the program and would not do my taxes any other way, either personal or corporate.
Two things that would make the program better:
1) when going back into a section in the interview to check or change one piece of info, the program should redisplay my previous answers and not go back to the default answers, which means I have to re-read and answer every question in that section to avoid creating an error.
2) after transferring the data to the state taxes, the program asks me to manually make adjustments for our state taxes. Turbo tax should have those adjustments built into the state programs to do this automatically, as most of us are not tax experts in these matters.

Fast, Easy, and Complete

great program very easy and thorough. Just wish I did not need to buy and install need software every year. would be better to buy once and then have it update each year online.
