Made it quick - mostly

Most entries were very straight forward. One confusing one was about HSA. The verbiage referred to employer donations, so it wasn't obvious that there was a line on which we were supposed to include our own contribution. I had to go back to figure it out when we realized it didn't come up later.
Had a technical glitch on the state return. Entries for interest income were carried over on lines 6-9 of the interest income worksheet. Couldn't continue as kept getting error message that payer on line 5 couldn't be blank. Tried to rekey info in lines 1-4 but when state form was finished, Turbotax re-transferred the original lines so we ended up with duplicate interest income. Took about an hour with their support line and between us we finally managed to get it corrected: the support guy got me to the right place, and I figured out I had to use override to force the system to delete the lines it had brought over.
An ongoing issue with TurboTax and Iowa state taxes is that it doesn't bring in the previous year's refund correctly. Iowa allows taxpayers to contribute to some charitable funds using their tax refund. So TurboTax brings over the amount of our refund check and not the amount of our refund. e.g. Our refund is $200 but we contribute $25 to Child Abuse Prevention. The state issues us a payment for $175 and transfers $25 to Child Abuse Prevention. The amount TurboTax SHOULD bring across is $200, as that's our refund amount, but it only brings over $175.
What's great about it: Most things were easily entered, though a couple things were vague
What's not so great: Ran into a technical problem with state taxes

AN INTUITIVE APPROACH THAT ALLOWS FOR FLEXIBILITY IN CONVERTING THE INFO THAT ONE HAS AND EXPLAINING THOSE THINGS WHERE INFO IS LACKING

I will be more than happy to prepare my tax return using Turbo Tax again next year!! It makes it easy for me to do my own tax return at home and in my own time!!
What's great about it: I find Turbo tax easy to access and really like having the past years figures for comparrison.The guide is easy to follo
What's not so great: I did try to have a question answered and couldn't get an answer. Might be my lack of computer skills!!

Overall a very good experience. A lot of stuff to read and instructions to follow. But I don't see how you can avoid that.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: cost of program and state electronic filing fee
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax gets better each year. I've used it the past 10 years, and each year the look and feel improves.

Great News!

I have been using Turbo Tax for almost 18 years plus or minus a year. I have recommended this software to many people. It used to be intimidating when I first started using this program but with the upgrades, it has become very user friendly. One aspect I really like is being able to ask FAQ's and get an actual answer. Another aspect I like is being able to see your actual refund or payment (green or red). I also like the way it looks for ways to help me save on my tax for the year. It helped me with a tax credit in education. I will always use Turbo Tax as long as I can!
What's great about it: I am able to see instantly my amount on my return!
What's not so great: None that I can think of.
