Turbo tax is very easy to use and finds deductions you sometimes wouldn't think about.

A Pleasant Experience

Although tax time is not the most pleasurable experience, TurboTax made it more tolerable. Being guided in a detailed way through all of the tax possibilities instills a high level of confidence that the tax return has been correctly prepared. Thanks for your help.

Got me through the mess!

You cover a lot of topics, but sometimes too many that don't pertain to the middle income people, just lots of extra areas to go through to get it all done in reasonable amount of time.
What's great about it: Found answers to questions
What's not so great: It wasn't easy to find answers on refinance of our home when the loan was sold to another lender shortly after we got it

Love the user-friendly Turbo Tax. It is nice knowing that calculations are done for you correctly. (Not so good at Math).

The Best One Out There

Of course, if you don't know what you're doing, no tax package will be of much use. However, with little helps and nudges along the way, this software is about the best there is.
For Clergy, though the software collects the parsonage allowance, it doesn't figure the Deason reduction. It's not that far away from doing it, so why not just write a module to do it? It would speed things up incredibly.
What's great about it: Carries forward info from previous year. Lets you see any changes and catch possible mistakes in current reporting
What's not so great: Deason reduction not calculated
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2013 Turbo Tax Review

A good, solid software platform that remains the "industry standard" for non-professional tax preparation. Walks you through the most complex forms simply, but let's you take charge when you need to. I've used it for years and look forward o using it again next year.
What's great about it: Simple yet flexible.
What's not so great: Doesn't catch all double entries (same info submitted is 1099-DIV & 1099-R).
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
