The transfer of info which would be tedious to re-enter is a plus. The comparison with last return and flagging of anything that appeared before, but not now provided an extra check.
What's great about it: easy to compare and transfer info from last return
What's not so great: could use more places from which to download info
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Shaky start but brilliant finish

I have been using Turbo Tax for about 10 years now. Love the simplicity of it in doing both Federal and State taxes.
This year I could not get the application to load from the CD and after spending MANY hours trying all the fixes and troubleshooting online, I called TT and the person who worked with me set me up with a downloadable version. Things worked like a charm from then to completion.
Thanks once again.
What's great about it: So very easy with step by step and a breeze to do state once federal is done,
What's not so great: Couldn't get TT loaded from CD. Tried for 3 days to do so using troubleshooting help online.

Surprise! A refund!

I've used TurboTax for years and never had a refund, which was how I planned things. Now my whole situation has totally changed: no longer working, collecting some retirement benefits, changes to investments, etc., and I really didn't know how things would sort out tax wise. TurboTax is very helpful in collecting the data and sorting through it. And I do not need so much paper as used to be the case. I wish more of the comapnies that supply my end of year tax data made the data available for download. It was so easy!
What's great about it: Download my income information and efile
What's not so great: Need to continually update the product can be a small annoyance. I assume it's actually a necessary service.

Didn't save a return in progress. Had to do it all over again. I typically finish and then let it set overnight. When I came back the next day, only a little bit of the return was there. Wasn't too hard, since the hard part is pulling together the documentation.
What's great about it: easy
What's not so great: Asked a lot of questions that do not apply

Our filing was more complicated this year than ever. I was concerned that it would be over my head, but TurboTax made it easy! The system guided me through each area and went back for additional information or clarification when necessary.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Multi-State Database, Converts Info from federal to all states
What's not so great: Separate fees for multiple states - both purchase and filing
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
