Great Software!!

I've been using TurboTax desktop version for years. I've looked at other versions and online options and have not yet found a reason to change.
It beats going to see a tax man at their office too.
What's great about it: Thorough Interview
What's not so great: Some question areas a bit confusing.

No serious problems. Can't understand why they don't show tax exempt income on work sheet when you click on finish. This raised some concerns and resulted in wasted time to make sure the tax exempt funds were correctly identified on the final tax form.
There must be a way to go straight to the standard deduction instead of wading through the itemized deduction when I already know I can't itemize.

Got it done - Twice !

I wish on the exempted income/div that it would have been explained about it not showing up on the form. It shows last years, then when you click on this years, it just says the form has been changed & to put it on there, but not that it won't show up like the last years did on the recap sheet.
Also it's hard to know if investment income/div are from multiple states. wish they'd tell you how to find out or what to put if you aren't sure.
We missed the guides talking to you with their pictures.
What's great about it: like being able to click on the help icon without leaving the page or searching for topic
What's not so great: sometimes the help wasn't spefic enough with follow up directions

Preparation Perfection

Short of instituting a flat tax for everyone, TurboTax is definitely my choice year after year. The process is stress-free. It's accurate and I've never had to submit to an IRS audit in the 20 years I've used it. The final product is polished and professional and can easily be saved on a flash drive instead of printing and filing hard copies that take up additional file cabinet space.
What's great about it: Love TurboTax! I've been using it for 20 years now. It makes a complicated requirement much easier.
What's not so great: E-file of our state return still requires a fee. Therefore, I am compelled to submit it the "old fashioned" way.
