Turbo Tax does it well. Step by step instructions are as detailed as you need them to be. Does a good job of making sure you don't miss any items as you go along.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions are easy to use
What's not so great: A little difficult to go back and add a deduction if missed a charitable donation

I have been a user of Turbo Tax for almost twenty years. I use it because it is very user friendly and steps me through the filing process in an orderly and understandable way. I have noticed and appreciated the fact that through the years effort has been made to eliminate ambiguity and help users to know more precisely what information is needed. My assumption is that you actually look at how you can make questions more understandable to users.
What's great about it: Interview questions are easy to understand. I always know where I stand with regard to refunds.
What's not so great: Still cannot download data from my financial institutions.

Fantastic Product

Friendly interface makes data entry a snap. Transfer of key data from last year's return helps speed up the process. Software was very helpful in calculating proceeds from the sale of our residence and in calculating a home office deduction in our new home.
What's great about it: Simple and efficient data entry, rapid and precise calculations
What's not so great: None encountered

This was an easy to use program. The states are a bit quirky when you have to do more than one.

Still a good product, however it is not as easy to navigate or get helpful answers to questions than in previous years.
What's great about it: quick and better than going to a temp accountant
What's not so great: the "simplification" of it made it harder to navigate than in years past

I love all of the helpful tip box located in the corners if I get stuck. It helpful being directly connected to the IRS website where I can find tax and personal information to complete my tax returns. I'll definitely purchase Turbo Tax again!
What's great about it: Turbo tax always give good tips on certain tax information if I get stuck.
What's not so great: It could do a better job or recommending whether my spouse and I should file separate or together.
