Turbo is right!

dont get why the federal is free and then you have to pay to file your state return after you already paid for the software! not good. :-(

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

If they would let you know it costs more for the basic package than the deluxe package, because the state return is not included, and if they would let you know that the free efiling of the federal return means you are required to pay to efile the state return, I would trust the company a lot more. These sneaky ploys do not set well.
Otherwise, it is a good product. Even with the above faults, I still use it year after year.
What's great about it: Easy to use (except for looking up the address of every charity in North America). Fast and accurate.
What's not so great: Some sneaky policies.

Easy to File

Overall, TurboTax is great. Very easy to use, and very quick. Finished both federal and state taxes in under 30 minutes.
What's great about it: Easy to follow guides and quick
What's not so great: If you buy state, just be ready to pay for the e-file.

I love that it goes step by step in simple english. But my favorite part is that it transfers the information from last year and it is easy to continue from there. Most of my information doesn't change very often so this saves lots of time.
What's great about it: Easy to follow.

I love Turbo Tax. I don't like taxes. Tax season is a stressful time for me - not because I may have to pay taxes but I don't like to make mistakes. Turbo Tax eliminates that stress from my tax season experience. It doesn't take as long; you do the worksheets (yes, I had to multiply out to 4 decimals one year). And then there is electronic filing which is now free for both Federal and State. This year I used direct payment and deposit. There is also a great feeling of comfort when I get emails stating my return has been received and processed. I look forward to next year for my first full year of College Expenses. Thank you Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Calculations - You do it all!!!!
What's not so great: Asking questions - I didn't want to register yet another userid on a website. I should be able to just ask questions.

Great Software

i have used Turbo Tax the last three years and as with every other time, it was quick and easy. It walks you thru everything and explains things in easy to understand terms when needed.

Saves Time and Effort

After hand-filled forms 15 years ago, I discovered TurbTax. Tax preparation went from 4-6 days down to two days. Now it is one evening or at most two. Also there is no guessing on what to enter, as everything is explained.
What's great about it: Quick entry and great accuracy.
What's not so great: Must pay to submit state return electronically.
