easy filing

The whole system is easy to use, but there are too many repetitive steps/pop ups. There is a good deal of helpful information shared, however, to be sure you are entering the correct information.
What's great about it: step by step help makes it quite easy
What's not so great: some things are hard to enter, like charitable deductions

Doing taxes with TurboTax is great, used to have someone prepare them, started 4 years ago with Turbo Tax and will keep using your program. Thanks very much!

Audited for tax year 2011 by the IRS; represented by Tax Resources, Inc. Audit Defense. Very professional; not one additional dime out of pocket expenses. Outcome: "NO CHANGE" letter from the IRS - in which the IRS agreed with our charitable contributions as reported and our return stands as originally reported to the IRS. Required: must have self-prepared taxes with TurboTax.

Loved my refund

If it's not broke, don't fix it. However, this year's software made a BIG deal over the date my pension started. During the Q & A, that was never mentioned. i answered all the questions the way I normally do, as my situation does not change. I get to the end to find out there are errors, errors that have never been there before. This time I kept being re-directed the simplified method worksheet asking me to put in the annuity start date. Why was this such a big deal this year, when it has never been an issue in previous years? Truly, this was the one and only question preventing me from transmitting. The software should be geared to differentiate between government pensions and IRAs, not try to group us together. This year caused undue stress and frustration.
What's great about it: It's still fairly quick
What's not so great: Didn't ask the right questions causing errors at the end as well as stress and frustration for me.
