2012 Turbo Tax

The format is easy to follow but at times the explanations require to scroll up and down. If you could format the information, immediately follow the subject with the explanation. Some of the list options are vague. I understand the tax code is very complex, if you could separate the items in each category more specifically, then combine the information into a subtotal and then a total.
What's great about it: Step by step instruction
What's not so great: Some of the items are lengthy - repeated scrolling up and down

TurboTax Does the Job Again

I have been using TurboTax since the 80's. I have confidence that my tax filings will be correct and all of the necessary items covered. I have never had a problem with the IRS as a result of a TurboTax filing.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Comprehensive. Guides through various tax situations.
What's not so great: Information about items not always clear.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I found the desk top version of Delux better for my needs since I could review the data on the tax forms & worksheets or input data directly into the forms. I had a situation where the online version did not ask for information that I needed to complete a form, so I had to switch to the desktop version so I could input the information. The program for my state taxes either did not ask for any capital gains loss carryover from last year or it failed to automatically input them from last years information. But with the desktop version I was able to input the information directly into the correct form.
What's great about it: I spent almost two hours on the telephone with one of your help specialist. She was great and very helpful.
What's not so great: The program missed or failed to ask about any State capital Gains loss carryover.

Pain-Free Processing

I have been using TurboTax for many, many years. I feel it is the BEST tax program on the market. It is easy to use and I don't miss any deductions I would be qualified for.
What's great about it: Very thorough and exhaustive questionaire
What's not so great: A lot of hard work but easier than doing it by hand
