I appreciate how easy the job of doing my taxes are made by the guiding questions turbo tax prompts me to answer. I like the details it will let me link to if I have a question about how I should answer. Very rarely do I have to go outside the realm of the turbo tax options for answering my tax questions. Very quick and painless e-filing as well.
What's great about it: The ease of doing my taxes.
What's not so great: Have to get questions answered outside the realm of turbo tax sometimes.

trying to find out how a "RMD" is used to apply or not apply to a retiree's benefit. was very confusing. i did not understand if my mother was drawing a full benefit or partial.
What's great about it: Very easy to use and understand
What's not so great: explanation of what a"RMD".

Quicker than taking it to an accountant

I really have found that using TurboTax is just as fast (and maybe even faster) than compiling the data to take to a tax preparer. The interview process is so simple that by the time I have compiled everything I would need for a preparer, I have everything I need to enter the information in the software. Especially since I have been using the program for years, it knows my family and completes a lot of the information for me.
What's great about it: Interview process walked me through the whole return
What's not so great: Small thing, have to redo an entire section just to check my entries

So easy!

Thank you so much for making this process easy from year to year. This year, it took me a total of 80 minutes. When I did taxes by hand in the old days, it would take up to 4 hours!
What's great about it: You do the math!
What's not so great: I still have to pay taxes

Does the job!

Overall, a very good program, which covers just about anything I could think of. I did have a problem when I knew what I needed to change, but had to scroll through endless questions I had already answered to find it.
It also generated Estimated tax forms (did that get transmitted to the IRS?) which I do not need. I will adjust my withholding.
A "What if" button would be helpful!
What's great about it: Covers everything
What's not so great: Moving back and forth through sections can be tricky.

All Done

I have been a TurboTax Customer for over 15 years. I can still remember the grueling hours spent over tax guides and publications trying to determine where all the numbers go on all the forms. Now every year, I actually look forward to doing my taxes - not to mention how TurboTax performs all the standard computations and confirmations of forms!
What's great about it: Last Year vs. Current Year for comparisons
What's not so great: Need to calculate cumulative depreciations from previous years that are saved when an asset is sold.
