TurboTax vs. Tax Act

I've been using TurboTax since 2005. One year, I could not get the business version of Turbo Tax and was forced to by Tax Act. Huge mistake. It was cumbersome and not as easy to use as TurboTax. I will never switch again!
What's great about it: Easy to complete and detailed help topics
What's not so great: Still have to go through questions that do not apply to your situation
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

MS State Return caused questions

I had to add the names and financial information to that transferred to the state return. It was already in the federal return. So I don't know why I had to do that. Of course that caused me to start checking everything. It was ok, but it took me much longer than needed. And, I've never had to do that before.
What's great about it: Mostly was straight forward
What's not so great: Fed transferred some information into state that was blank

tale of turbo tax

I have used turbo tax the last several years. obviously i have appreciated this product. It has a guiding hand in where to go next and what will be coming up later. I would reccommend this product to anyone wanting to do their own taxes. yet needing assistance regarding current tax laws
What's great about it: moves you through each section quickly
What's not so great: there were a couple of areas that seemed to bog down

Easy to use

Really easy to use once you are farmiliar with items you need to respond to the items in question. Great product for do it yourself people.
What's great about it: Ease of use and time involved.
What's not so great: There might be a need for a quick reference glossary of terms used by the IRS or Turbo Tax.

I have been using Turbo Tax for years. It is super user friendly and explains everything in regular English!!
What's great about it: I love how Turbo Tax walks you through everything and will also pull through your info from the previous year!

We've been using TurboTax for our federal taxes for many years now and have never had any problems. It makes doing our taxes fast and efficient.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Can't think of any cons aside from maybe the cost of the software itself.
