TurboTax 2012 Return

It took about 30 minutes to get someone on the line to help with an issue I had. However, it was well worth the wait, because the TurboTax rep was knowledgeable, kind and gave great service. It was also nice to speak with someone who happened to be located in the same state where I live.
Again, it was a long wait, but it was worth it, because TurboTax has saved me several headaches!

TurboTax is the way to go!

I've used TurboTax for several years and I am SO much more relaxed when working on my taxes. Any questions are easily answered. I especially like that I can work on it a little at a time and then pick up where I left off; each time I launch, it checks for updates and I feel very secure in knowing that I have the most recent and up to date information. TurboTax makes filing taxes easy!
What's great about it: Extremely EASY to use and to find answers to questions!
What's not so great: There are no bad things about using this software!

Easy Filer

I have used Turbo Tax for years and have turned many of my friends on to this product. I can't imagine not using Turbo Tax to file my taxes each year. It is so easy to use and the ability to load last year's details into the new year saves a ton of time and saves a lot of key strokes plus reduces errors that could be caused by fat fingers. The downloading of data from Employer W2's and Investment brokers is a neat feature that also adds to accuracy and reduces potential bad key strokes.
Using the Easy Step process gives less knowledgeable users the opportunity to use the software package to keep them on the right track and to make sure that all points are covered so they don't omit something they should include on their return. More experienced users can elect to do their own thing and go through the sections of income and expense that apply to their tax situation without needing to go over all sections that would not be of interest to them.
Even after all the input is done the fact that the software allows you to run an error check to find mistakes gives you a sense of comfort that things are looking good. If the error check finds something it quickly points you to what must be fixed. If nothing is found you get a sense of achievement that makes you feel good. Even after all that you get more comfort when you are graded against national averages indicating the audit level of your return compared to your peer group. Although such metrics can't be taken as a guarantee that the IRS will not look more closely at your return it's good to know your relative position in the world of the IRS tax returns. Besides Turbo Tax even offers to sell you advanced protection and will represent users at any IRS review resulting from the filing of the return. Turbo Tax is such a good product that this feature may only be of benefit to those persons who do not feel confident with their interpretaion of the facts as they have filled them out on their return. Turbo Tax has on line help so there really should not be any doubt about IRS rules or interpretation as this advice is freely available prior to completing the return. Some people will still fell better with this additional support so for them it is a good feature.

Easy Money!

This is about the tenth year I have used Turbo Tax to complete my Federal and State taxes - I can not envision doing taxes another way. The ease of use makes it almost painless.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

turbo tax deluxe is very helpful and found deductions didn't know were available this year. very glad it was available so late in the tax season. will use this product again.

Using turbotax for many years

We've been using turbotax for many years. We find each year the program does more and more for you which is great for a novice user. However, as a more advanced user I was challenged to find some information I was looking for, such as deductions for mileage for work. Hopefully they can continue to satisfy both novice as well as more advanced users.
What's great about it: ease of use, auto calculations, lots of options
What's not so great: does too much for you, hard to find non-standard information
