Did Pretty Well

Overall this program was easy to use. Importing investment data was the real life-saver, though! I also like that you got one free state return. I didn't like the way it told you your supposed refund wayyyyy before you were even close to done.
What's great about it: Guided me through my return with ease, one free state return
What's not so great: Has some annoying sections that tell you your "refund" way before you are done

I found that the step by step approach worked with most items but found that to make sure things were right I had to use the "explore on my own" to get all the special situations like capital gains on municipal bonds. Also I was not able to circumvent the interest charged for making estimated payments when capital gains were realized.
What's great about it: DId a great job of getting most all my additions and deductions and taxes correct
What's not so great: WHen doing state taxes, it did not point me to the area that I could deduct capital gains from municipal bonds

Saved me a lot time.

It was a snap to file my return; it would normally take me all day to find all forms and information necessary needed to file my return, with Turbo Tax all the forms are immediately available.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: Does not have all tax updates available.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy Way To Do Taxes

TurboTax is a very easy way to do taxes when one has a complex return because of buying and selling stocks with resultant gains and losses, which can be downloaded from a brokerage firm, and with carry-over information that is automatically entered from last year's return.
What's great about it: Good Guidance Questions
What's not so great: Sometimes repeats issues already addressed

My 10th Year of Painless Filing

I have been using Turbo Tax for years and every year it is better and allows me a relatively painless method of doing my taxes. I especially like the ability to download broker transactions, saving me hours of time and probably mistakes.
What's great about it: Quick, easy, and thorough
What's not so great: Doesn't pay my remaining taxes for me.

We are back...again, and again, and again

Dang that IRS. You send them money and they keep coming back for more. The only relatively painless part of paying taxes for our family has been, for years, using Turbo Tax. Turbo Tax walks us through each step and leaves no deduction unturned, a must when you are supporting three children. Calculations are error-free and filing is a breeze! We especially like watching the ticker showing us how much we will be getting back in our refund. It's a small consolation.....
What's great about it: easy, quick
