Ease of Computing Return

Turbo Tax was very user friendly and there was ease in filing with sufficient explanations and suggestions. Have used Turbo Tax to file my taxes for the past 10 years and would not file any other way!

I like consistency, and TT does that for me. Year after year, I have counted on it to make things easier.
What's great about it: Simple roll-over of past information, quick, easy data entry.

Great Product

I really love Turbo Tax and use it each year. I am a CPA but I only do a hand full of friend and family returns now and this product is perfect for that. The only con is that I have a lot of family that lives all over the USA and it really costs a lot to purchase your state add ons so I end up doing those by hand and it would be much easier with the software. Wish you would sell your state product with the option of per return rather than per state so that it would not be as costly.
What's great about it: Easy to use and walks you thru all aspects
What's not so great: Don't like that the additional states are so expensive

Simply the best

I have been using Turbo Tax for years and this version is the best yet. Even though my situation is not real complicated It is easier to navigate than earlier versions.
What's great about it: Easy,simple to navigate,only gives you the forms you personally need
What's not so great: none that I can think of

works better for capital losses, retirees, PDFs

The major competitor stopped working with Acrobat Pro in 2008-2011 and its substitute PDF program just didn't work. TurboTax makes it easy to keep copies and includes helpful details like your capital loss carryovers. It also puts withdrawals from retirement accounts under Income, where they belong. Several things specific to Massachusetts could be explained more clearly, but I found the Federal explanations good (except that window saying that you qualify for a $2000 deduction. Next year, the program should say up front that the deduction is for paying Social Security and Medicare taxes, not for contributing to a retirement plan as implied.) TurboTax is worth the slightly higher cost.
What's great about it: Delux fine for reporting investments
What's not so great: Lots of bugs in Jan, Feb, don't file too soon. Keep updating.
