Really upsetting i bought the deluxe package , thinking this was all i needed & then was not able to get the state w/out additional $$$!!!!!!!! never again,,, next year back to H & R
What's great about it: quick to the point
What's not so great: i bougth deluxe, but did not gey state free!!!!!

First time I ever had a problem with TurboTax

First time I ever had a problem with turbo tax and i wanted to throw it out into the snow covered driveway and run it over with the snow blower..
For some unknown reason in the final check section the program insisted that my dividend is both taxable (which it is0 and tax exempt (which it is not). This prevented me from completing my return. After 90+ minutes I could not figure out way to resolve the issue and send my return off ... After giving it a rest for a bit I tried again and some how I managed to stumble upon a way to con the program into seeing that my dividend was not tax exempt.
This should not have happened as everything except for the dollar amount of the dividend was the same as last year and the info was properly imported yet this year there was an issue.
Next year i plan on using turbo tax again but i hope i do not have this is issue again

Very easy to complete. Step by step guide allows you to enter as much, or as little needed to prepare your taxes.

If I already know I will be taking the standard deduction, how about an option to select that directly, instead of having to zero out info that actually has monetary values just to be able to skip that section. The remainder of the program's features were great. Explanations were available without cluttering up the screen.
What's great about it: Transferring info from last year's return was quick and accurate.
What's not so great: No option to skip deductions.

8th year with TurboTax

This is my 8th year filing with TurboTax. Each year it seems to be easier, more intuitive (might be my experience with TT), and above all it gives peace of mind that all topics have been covered.
What's great about it: Easy to use, thorough, ease of mind
