I have used TuboTax for many years & basically love it. This year, however, due to changes in circumstances, TurboTax kept insisting I was eligible for an EIC (earned income credit) even though I did not think I was. I finally took this credit, only to have both federal & state taxes not accepted because I was not eligible for it (due to age). This was frustrating--& stressful-- to say the least. Once I removed the credit from the forms & resubmitted them both were quickly accepted. I assume this is a glitch in the TurboTax software which needs to be corrected.
What's great about it: very easy to use, thorough, clear directions
What's not so great: sometimes difficult to over-ride what Turbo Tax thinks answer should be

I liked turbotax overall. I had a couple hangups but felt program guided me through well enough for my first time doing taxes
What's great about it: Ease of questions
What's not so great: Did not easily grasp the medical deductions

Would like to see more explanations inside of the program rather than to have to leave and go to a forum.
Home refinancing was poorly explained to the point of near panic. This information should have been part of the Q&A of the program from the onset. Even though not much of the refinancing process is deductible. This is a question thousands are asking and should have been more prominent in the program.
Also-get the Audit Defense!!!! I needed it last year for a student loan question from the IRS. AD handled it all. It was handled, done, gone, adios! Handled: that says it all.

Makes it very easy to do my taxes. I can easily see what numbers to put where by telling me what boxes to look at.
