Navigation Excellence

I very much appreciated the work that went into preparing this software. Every detail was perfectly orchestrated to match the point in the process. I never felt lost amidst the data. That's a pretty astonishing feat!
What's great about it: Simple and conversational in style, the navigation of the process was spot on.
What's not so great: Sometimes had to scroll down for too long to get to the end of a topic or process.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

So easy

My taxes were easy but made even easier by using the Turbo Tax program.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax asks questions and I just answered them and my taxes were finished!
What's not so great: Absolutely nothing that I found

Daughter in first year of college where I pay all costs but she works part time and earned of 3800.00.
Took a while to figure out that I had to select the "lived with me" for number of months before it allowed any deductions.
Other daughter just turned 17 and I wasn't eligible for any deductions or child tax credits, still not sure why?

Just like most things in life, you get what you pay for. Sure, H&R software is cheaper to buy, but it also is cheap in performance. After a major snafu 2 years ago, I will stick with Turbo Tax, unless my situation changes and becomes more complex. That's where professional (and expensive) tax experts come in handy.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and great value compared to other softwares.
What's not so great: Nothing major worth a negative mark.

I have used Turbo Tax since I started paying taxes. Really great to work with. The Federal portion is top notch, the states could use a little more work with how questions are worded in the Step By Step portion. I have had to contact support several times, but I file in several states. That part is a pain, but the support guys are FANTASTIC! They have literally spent hours with me to resolve calculation concerns accross the state filings. I give them all two thumbs up!
What's great about it: LOVE the techinical support offered. Agents are knowledgeable and spend all the necessary time it takes to solve issues
What's not so great: Some issues when dealing with multiple states. Do them in the wrong order, and they won't calculate correctly

This made it so easy and quick to do my taxes. It took the "hurt" out of doing taxes.
