I usually walk in and get the deluxe software retail.
Each year I save a PDF of my returns, fed and state.
Then I'm in the race to the end of the present return that may seem automatic to get to. But this is about not spending extra to find a qualified preparer to show the extra deductions you may want.
The pages that come up in your browser off a link are slower than the program IDE, and contribute a loss of direction.
I like the privacy of the program.

I've used Taxact and TurboTax, like Turbo the best .

It helped me survive the IRS maize

It handled an overly complex return due to unfortuate investment plan phase out to save my ability to complete!
What's great about it: Handled the new 8949 forms with imported info
What's not so great: The above forms did not accumuate totals of A, B, C events effectively

Overall very good.
Sometimes have to wait long time to get phone assistance, but when filnally connected, was worth the wait.
Provided good insight as to mistakes I currently made.

What's not so great: Incorectly transfered data from last year where I used 2012 in file name (i.e., 2012 projected)

Another Fed year done

Still confusing when have a state refund from prior year when paid taxes + AMT. I think this is more an IRS issue than a Turbo Tax issue.
What's great about it: Easy to use

I LOVE TURBO TAX!!!

I enjoyed using Turbo Tax for many reasons: I could take my time to prepare my returns from home (where all my stuff is!), I didn't need to run to a tax preparer's office to drop off my tax information, and then pick it up, pay a large fee for the prep and e-filing. It saved me A LOT of time and money!!! :)
What's great about it: You are able to take your time to prepare your taxes and file right from the comfort of your home!
What's not so great: I haven't had any negative experiences with Turbo Tax yet!!!
