price could be a little more in line with copetitors, however i have not tried any competitors software still much less than going to a tax provider

Still not sold

It is helpful but you still need to know quite a lot about you tax situation. In the tough sections, there is too much just copying the information from the tax code and not enough help tranlating that into what will help us understand and complete the section better & easier.
What's great about it: Helps step through the tax process
What's not so great: In some of the more complex sections, translate the tax code into english

Frustration and Happy Landing

Schedule C was filed in 2011 and none was necessary in 2012 due to $0 income and 0 activity. However, questions for Schedule C kept coming up and there was no way around it.
Finally got all the spaces filled either with a zero or left blank.
It would have been easier not to have the form - the program would not allow me..
What's great about it: Calculations in system eliminate mathematical errors
What's not so great: Unable to remove an unnecessary schedule
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

e-filing instructions not very user friendly

E-filing a Joint return requires that you obtain a pin from the IRS site.
Instructions should say that it is 'highly suggested that you obtain a PIN for your spouse.'
Under spouses required information, i.e #Pin #, Birthdate, and Last years adjusted Gross Income# there should be either the same amount for Adjusted Gross Income, or the word 'Joint' propagated in the blank space for Adjusted Gross Income.
The next question asks: Did your spouse file an income tax return last year? It is not clear whether you should select no or yes, when the previous years return was a joint return.
What's not so great: E-filing a Joint return not very clear

Best things about Turbo Tax is it won't let you make errors like stupid adding mistakes, it makes things easy to understand by uncomplicating IRS instructions through easy step and filing is a snap..
What's great about it: Easy to understand. Easy to Follow.
What's not so great: No problems. Ergo no Cons

This is my second year using turbo tax. It is fast and easy to use. I recommend it to friends and family.

Easy Step by Step Process

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years now. I like the fact that Turbo Tax has researched all the changes that take place every year in the tax code. Then they pass that work on to the user in step by step questions, making sure I get all the reporting right and all the potential credits and deductions that I am qualified for.
What's great about it: I like the fact that Turbo Tax has researched all the changes that take place every year in the tax code.
What's not so great: I'm sure they do it to keep me alert, but sometimes they change the way they ask questions.
