Although this product is amazing, I think more time needs to be spent on the user interface. This product really does make things easy in almost all situations, but there are a few bugs that are interface related. This "walk forward" type of linear interface works great for reducing mistakes, but when mistakes are made... it can make it easier to start over than try to delete/repair the return using the restrictive interface. There are some instances where if you need to go back and edit information (such as deleting info for certain deductions, esp in the WI state return) the interface will walk you forward through it again, but not let you delete info you entered! For example, the WI return will make you enter in TONS of info for the homestead credit, and will let you "skip" it if you go back because you decide it isn't worth it... but the info you entered will be left in place (thus creating errors that the program will point out, but NOT easily let you fix/get back to). Please fix this!
What's great about it: Easy to use, to the point, and very accurate.
What's not so great: Interface somewhat clunky for the money.

I have a tendancy to wait til the bitter end to file my taxes. But I know with TurboTax it will be smooth sailing. They make it so easy with the prompts and the ability to review last year's filings.

I've been using TT for many years now and have been very happy with it! I noticed my state return was significantly lower than last year. I compared line by line and some deductions weren't automatically entered from the federal return?
Not sure why, this never happened before. Otherwise very happy with it!

Turbo Tax is Teriffic

I have used Turbo Tax for the last several years. I won't consider using any other program. It is easy to use, transfers the previous years' data seamlessly, and prompts me to look for deductions or corrections to information that I have entered.
What's great about it: Easy to use and complete information
What's not so great: Program wants to update each time I open a file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Like I said above, system seemed to just "lock up", had to use alt/ctl/delete several times to move on ?????

Easy as usual

I've used TT for the last 4 years to do my own taxes, after my former tax preparer routed my refund into his account and stole my State return. TT makes it easy for anyone to find deductions and submit a professional return to both the IRS and your State tax agencies. Without it, we'd all be at the mercy of tax preparers/accountants.
What's great about it: Step by step makes it easy to do
What's not so great: Many updates this year
