It Was a Good Experience

Turbo tax has been a good experience for me over the years. It is relatively fast, complete, accurate, and simple to use. I am a bit concerned that the prices of the various components (e-file, downloading states, etc.) are getting higher and higher.
I do recommend it overall.
What's great about it: Accurate, complete, simple
What's not so great: Cost is getting higher and higher

I wish I'd used TurboTax last year so I could have saved $350 paying someone to do it for me. Next year will be much easier since I can important most of the information from this years return. A truly wonderful product for a perfectly lousy time of year!!!
What's great about it: Walked me through step by step and answered my questions spot on...

Done and Done

I have been using turbo tax for a several years and it is fast fairly easy. Normally I get things done as soon as I get all my papperwork together. I've tried to do the paper route and it is a nightmare. This is sooooo much faster and easier than anything I have ever done.
What's great about it: Getting taxes done on my schedule
What's not so great: Understanding the finer details, going through charts.

l generally like TurboTax. My main problem is that there seems to be no easy way to enter non-taxable clergy housing allowance. TurboTax wants to call it taxable income. (The only portion that is taxable is the unused portion of the housing allowance. which is entered on line 21 with a notation as to what it is. TT aksked for the amount in 1099-R box 1, and when I enter it, it is automatically declared taxable, even though box 2 says it is not taxable. I get around the problem by overriding the figure and zeroing it out. Then I enter the unused portion on 1040 line 21. This should be one of the options given when entering 1099-R entries. I hope you will look at this.
What's great about it: importing data from previous return
What's not so great: Not user friendly on entering clergy housing allowance funds
