Taxes, easy and accurate

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and always found it accurate and easy to use. You do have to be diligent about using the wizard if you are not familiar with the tax code, though.
I wish it would tell you if an update affects your return.
What's great about it: easy to use, love that it carries forward info from last year, accurate.
What's not so great: I worry when I see updates to the software/forms after I have file my returns

Thorough Review of My Situation

This was my 12th year using Turbo Tax. This year Intuit made a programming error in the MN state return. They fixed their error in a timely manner and notified everyone as soon as the error was discovered. I hadn't filed yet, but I appreciated the way they dealt with this issue. Because these situations can arise, it is very important to register one's software.
What's great about it: Keeps me from forgetting details
What's not so great: Charges to e-file state return
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Getting better

I have been using TurboTax for about 8 years now. I used to complain because it would be hard to go back to one particular step if I had to come back to the return later to enter information. I found that process to be easier this year. I will say it still takes me a while (2-4 hours) to do my taxes, but that's because it takes a while to enter in all of my charitable donations one by one, and I like to take advantage of the EasyGuide to make sure I'm not missing anything (which also takes me through more steps than I probably need to go through). The transfer of info from previous years as well as transfer of federal info to the state return does save a lot of time (and it entices me to buy Turbo Tax again each year - well played).

Excellent Tool

I used to do my taxes manually but this is a much easier way. Plus, information from the previous year is stored so you don't have to re-enter it. I love it!
What's great about it: Very easy to use and gives excellent step-by-step instructions as you go.
What's not so great: Nothing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

wasted my whole day working with it ,would have been better off spending extra bucks to have a pro do my taxes
What's not so great: had to down load and uninstall and install a second tiime to get it to work and then couldnt get it to print out the res

Takes the "chore" out of tax time!

I am so thankful for the Turbo Tax program. It truly makes the task of filing a tax return bearable and affordable. I know what my friends pay to have their taxes done professionally and I'm getting the same service and added convenience of being able to do it in the comfort of my own home at a fraction of the cost!
What's great about it: Quick, easy, loaded with helpful information and thought provoking questions
