Better & Better

Utilized to complete federal, two states plus local taxes. Questions are concise, and helpful. Provided background information quite useful. Appreciated the customer "blog" - found quick answer to an issue that was tricky to navigate via program.
What's great about it: Easy, clear, excellent & thorough links
What's not so great: Donating automobile questions/form still tricky to find

Tax Simplicity

Have used TT for 18 years and have never had an issue with IRS. TT has taken the misery, confusion, and despair out of having to stumble annually through many IRS forms and instructions in preparing and submitting returns for Federal and State income tax.
Have tried other products but none are as easy to use or as thorough as TT. And this includes estates and small business type situations.
A suggested addition during the step-by-step interview process should be the listing of Tax Forms received. Questions in this area are often confusing and inadvertently misleading. If one is not familiar with finance and IRS tax terms and definitions this becomes an extremely confusing area. I have gone through TT step-by-step, answered questions and have had forms received that TT process does not pick up. Which usually means I answered one of the questions incorrectly and I have to back up and find what is in error.
A simple page that asks 'Did you receive the following forms? Check all that apply and we will guide you through what you need for your return.' This would then help TT ask more appropriate questions in income and deduction areas.
And TT should include estates and trusts in for familes in the personal edition.
What's great about it: Takes a dull, forbidding, and onerous annual task and makes it simple and quick.
What's not so great: Confusing questions during Step-by-Step interview.

What's not so great: PAY EXTRA TO FILE STATE RETURN AFTER PAYING A PREMIUM TO BUY AN EXTRA STATE

Easy

This program has saved me hours and hours of time doing my taxes the last couple of years and given me a lot more peace of mind that they're done right as opposed to doing them by hand.
What's great about it: No worry about complex tax law. With TT I feel like I can rest easy.
