Average tax filing

I had an average tax experience. I liked the step by step process, but I had a bigger refund last year, so I was wondering if maybe I did something wrong this year.
What's great about it: Easy step by step
What's not so great: Confused on some of the questions

Even though we had to pay a small amount, I feel confident that Turbo Tax covered all the areas that could help me reduce my taxable income.
What's great about it: Very thorough with questions that quide one through all areas of the returns.

RELIABILITY EQUALS COMFORT WHEN FILING

I have been successfully using Turbo Tax for more than 10 years and have only been audited once. After a few letters back and forth with the IRS, everything was cleared up and no additional taxes were owed.
What's great about it: Using last year's file makes it so easy to complete this year's!
What's not so great: Some confusion when trying to determine small business expenses: ie. LTC

Turbo tax is great

I love Turbo Tax, I use it every year. Even when I have deductions it is quick and easy. Turbo Tax is like being in front of a tax consultant. Turbo Tax tells me when I have entered something incorrectly. Turbo Tax will not let you finish until all errors are fixed. I Would never use anything else.
What's great about it: Ease of use, able to look up any form I need using the search box, quick, helps me fix any error that I made.
What's not so great: None, this is a great way to prepare your taxes.

distorted previous year's return

After I installed 2012 TurboTax, I tried to input info from 2011 tax return (done with TurboTax) but it listed MY NAME for both me AND my spouse! and wouldn't allow me to correct her name. So I had to manually enter all the data, most of which were repeats from 2011, therefore greater chance of errors, plus I did not have the advantage of comparing new info with 2011's as I input 2012 data.
Also, I could then no longer access any of my prior year's returns using TurboTax.
What's great about it: all good except 'con' below
What's not so great: it would not correctly input information from 2011 Turbo tax

USER FRIENDLY TAX SERVICE

Ive used all of the tax prep programs... and I always end up back with Turbo Tax. Each tax area is easily laid out, defined and explained. No one is required to have my accounting and tax background to use Turbo Tax..... it's best summed up as "User Friendly"
What's great about it: best thing about turbo tax is how understandable each tax issue becomes
What's not so great: its hard to undo mistakes
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Generally a very good package. Still needs work on slightly more complex issues concerning foreign tax credits and partnership information. Also, I believe it's time for Quicken to offer a "cloud" based repository for completed tax documents to avoid the problems that ultimately develop over the long term with computer and external hard drive crashes.
What's great about it: Very easy to populate - continually see year over year improvements in the ability to download documents.
What's not so great: Still doesn't handle foreign tax and partnership issues very well.
