Quick & Easy

I love turbo tax. It does all the paperwork for you! Even though I owe it makes it nice to see the damage as you go.
What's great about it: Turbo tax is so easy to use, shows your refund/ owe as you go

What's great about it: Easy to use

Still clunky in parts

I'm so used to using TT that I don't even read reviews of the other products anymore.
Still, even as my returns get easier, the program still seems clunky - after all these years! I can't believe they actually sit down with people and watch them go through the program. It seems they rely on input from users rather than going TO the users.

What's great about it: Probably stil the easiest
What's not so great: Seems to load the section before asking if you even need to enter it

Surprise Refund

Probably my 5th year straight using TurboTax so needless to say I like the product and plan to use it again next year.
What's great about it: User Friendly and Self-Explanatory
What's not so great: If missing info found in 'final check', may not know what they are asking for...

Considering the number of products sold & the current statement of the economy, it would be nice to provide both federal & state e-filing for free.

DELUXE Turbotax tax

I made and assumption that when I purchased TurboTax Deluxe it included the filing of both Federal and State returns.
This was very disappointing. Says right on the cover:
Federal & State returns plus Federal E-File. Which is the truth but - I read into the cover that State was covered too. I could not find on the packaging that STATE E-filing was an additional fee.

Other wise it was easy to use.
What's great about it: Program was fairly easy to use.

I've used turbo tax several times now as well as going to tax preparation professionals in the past. While using others was normally simple and headache free, I wonder if they missed anything because they usually didn't ask many questions and only used the paper work I provided. Turbo tax is very detailed and asks many many questions to determine your personal situation and find out what tax codes apply to you. Thanks to turbo tax, I now know about deductions that I had no idea of before and if I ever need someone else to do my taxes again, I know there is additional information I should be supplying to make sure I get my maximum deduction. If I have one complaint about turbo tax, it's that the additional information they supply when you click for detailed information could be more in depth and layman friendly. I found myself going to the web a few times to determine what some of the definitions are so I could figure out what to select.
What's great about it: Very detailed, covers a lot
What's not so great: Could have better information on some of the questions
