TurboTax provides easy to understand, detailed Step by Step, instructions to address every significant category that contributes to the calculation of your return. e-Filing is so easy. They also have explanations/definitions/examples of terms they help demystify things (eg, AMT) that contribute to tax calcuation. Thanks!

Way better than doing it by hand!!!

The best thing I like is how easy it is to make changes and see how it affects your bottom line so you can try different scenerios for dependents, deductions, and retirement planning.
What's great about it: Carrying info forward from the previous year saves a lot of time.
What's not so great: Errors in state forms are a real headache.

Rocked My Refund!

overall great product that makes tax season a breeze! I look forward to doing taxes each year (as strange as that sounds)
What's great about it: Self-guided in extreme depth with multiple check-points to ensure accuracy
What's not so great: can be difficult to make corrections- i found mistakes on my own that Turbo Tax did not

Checking for Updates could be better

When I tried to sent my e-file, I got the "TurboTax needs to be updated" message. I followed instrux and went to the main menu and clicked "Check for Updates several tomes but nothing happened.
I checked Help and got lots of negative fear filled comments from frustrated users. Instead, TurboTax Help coud have simply said to save the return info, shut down the TurboTax application, eject the disk (I had the deluxe version), restart my laptop and try again. In fact that did finally initiate TurboTax to "download updates".
It was a massive 72 MB update - was that really necessary? That is a LOT of space to takeup on my computer. How could this have been reduced in size?
Then as I clicked through to start again I got a really confusing mesage ansking me to "Download Updates?" This time i wondered if it referred to new updates or the same 72MB download. I'll bet yo lose a lot of customers here. That message should have said, "now that yo are updated to TurboTax version whatever, you still need to download an update from your state" or something.
When I clicked this second request to update I got info that it was a state update, so I knew it was a new one. That dialogue process must be made less confusing for the customer. I imagine you lose lots of people right at the start of that second request to update.
I really threw me - and I'm pretty computer savvy!

Fast and easy - even for a novice

Turbo Tax is the easiest way to file your own taxes, especially if you, like me, do not have alot of additional 'baggage" to bring to the table.

The Three E's - Easy, Excellent, Efficient

I have used Turbo Tax for many years now and I would highly recommend it to others. My husband and I use to pay someone to do our taxes, and I saw once that he was using turbo tax. So I went out and bought it the next year, and we have been using it since. It is very easy, and will prompt you for all the paperwork you need.
What's great about it: Prompts me for all I need
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Great Product that i have used for years and my brother is a CPA. It has never lead me wrong and we greatly appreciate that. The one thing i wish your board would review if to allow free efile of state taxes considering most states like Louisiana have a free efile site. just a thought but overall TURBO TAX ROCKS!

What's not so great: Wish it contained 2 free state returns considering most states efile for free.
