Ease My Mind

For years we have had a CPA do our returns. I used to do my own but when we bought and sold homes etc. and my husband was a truck driver it seemed much easier to let them do it. Now I CAN DO it. This was so easy and we learned so much. We also found that they had not submitted some of the information that we had provided.
What's great about it: I was able to again do our return and learned so much

Good but with bugs

I have been using TurboTax for 7 years and am basically satisfied. However, this time around there was a big error that the program did not find. Somehow, and I don't know whether I entered the wrong number or if the program did something funky, but it said the state withheld about twice as much as it actually did. This said I had a state refund about twice as much as I owed Federal. I would have thought that would have raised a red flag. When I figured out what happened, I had a hard time getting to where I had to be to edit those numbers. I finally got in and fixed it, but the process should have been easier than it was.
What's great about it: Easy to use and pretty thorough
What's not so great: Let a big error get through. I caught it but had a tough time getting where I needed to be to make the correction

No Worries, No Problems

This is a great product that that I have used for the last few years without any worries. It takes the history from the past few years and plugs it into last tax year, no problems. Intuit makes doing taxes very seamless year after year even when doing my taxes with another tax package, Turbo Tax still worked without a hitch!

2012 review

Seems to have caught several deductions that my accountants had not caught in previous years of help. When tabulating deductions I had lumped together several items of medical expenses. I had to go back and break these down into a number of categories. I did have some confusion when trying to actually e-file the file with the IRS. In particular I did not understand a question concerning an earlier question concerning a lump-sum SSI award. We had one but it was not deposited in 2012. It was deposited in an earlier year.
What's great about it: found several deductions I could have taken last year.
What's not so great: had to go back several times to break out some details of deductions I had already tabulated

I have a very uncomplicated review but this allows me to look at things that could help me with a higher refund. I always dread doing taxes but this was so easy I don't know why I was dreading it.

I love Turbo Tax and have been using it every year for at least the past 10 years. It's so easy and interactive. It's amazing the new features they add each year. Love it!

Turbo Tax does a nice job of stepping you through the whole process and checking all the deductions and credits you are eligible for. The software cut my preparation time in half versus doing the job on paper.
What's great about it: Easy to follow step by step process
What's not so great: Hard to go back to one particular section without clicking through the rest of the section
