Easy money

I have been using turbotax for the last 5 or 6 years and it get faster and faster for me to file my tax every year. I like it a lot and will continue to use it.

Tax Exempt Interest/DIvidends needs help.

Did not like the method of reporting tax exempt dividends. It was not clear where to enter the data. Needed to call tech support to get the answer. Even they were confused at first. Further, the OID adjustment is applied proportionally, not by state. Had to override the state worksheet to adjust the OID. Would be nice if you could enter the OID by state just as you enter the interest by state on the Federal side and let it carry over to the state return.
What's great about it: Usually pretty easy to use.
What's not so great: Did not like the method of reporting tax exempt dividends. It was not clear where to enter the data .

My wife and I have been using Turbo Tax for 15+ years. It's easy to navigate through; and it keeps getting easier year after year. We love how it saves time by pulling in personal data information from the previous year's tax return. Plus we like the thorough explanations available to us right on the Turbo Tax application.
What's great about it: The tax guide is fantastic
What's not so great: Cost to e-file state return

No Guesswork / No More Paying a Tax Pro

This is the second year I have used TurboTax and I wish I'd started earlier. In about the same amount of time it would take to go through the process with a tax professional, I did it myself from the comfort of my living room.
What's great about it: Easy to use / No Guesswork
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

1st time used-incredible experience

We used turbo tax for the first time this year because we had to do the taxes for my husband's mother. Unlike us, she has a complicated income situation.It only took one afternoon instead of days. The phone help for the complicated problems was a lifesaver; there isn't anyway to estimate the value of the phone help. And, we e-filed (another first) because the directions were so clear and easy to follow. I'm actually excited about doing our taxes now because it is so easy with Turbo Tax. It's easy, it's safe, it's great!
What's great about it: the best money I've spent for a product
What's not so great: no cons, except for the worst "on hold' music I've ever heard

Not sure I maximized my refund

Every year I choose Turbo Tax because it is cheap and easy but every year I also wonder if a tax professional could more than pay for their fee with a higher refund...

My Review of TurboTax 2012

I was able to complete the Federal form with no problems, print it out, and sent it electronically in less than 2 hours. It caught me making my own mistakes and led me to correct them in short order. I think this is your best version yet, having use TurboTax for several years now. I love it!
What's great about it: Very easy to use, accurate, and fast.
What's not so great: There was nothing to dislike in this program.
