I have my masters degree in Taxes and still use Turbo Tax to prepare my taxes every year. It's accurate and simple to use.

I had no problems with the federal side of TT and really liked the fact that I could import much of my info cutting down on my input time. However, the state was a little more challenging as I made a loan on my 401K account and had a little difficulty accounting for it as a loan with no state tax due until I spoke with some other users. Before the adjustment TT kept telling me I owed state tax on the amount borrowed (has to be paid back to the account) and I didn't know how to enter the amount reported to offset this error. TT topics didn't cover 401K loans so I was stuck until I spoke to someone knowledgeable in this area.
What's great about it: All ofn the pertinent questions to get a full refund
What's not so great: the state was not as fully user friendly as the federal side

Turbo Tax forund a MAJOR error and got us $1500

Because we ha to file a 1099-R and had Federal and State taxes included, somehow our Company took to much out for State and thus added about $1,550.00 more to our return!
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: If you are using a new computer, you may not havea backup if you didn't store your info onto a portable hard drive

Overall I Like Turbo Tax

I've used Turbo Tax for many years. I prefer the download version over the online version.
What's great about it: Step by Step Guide
What's not so great: Could use more specific help sections
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

very smooth, and fluid, flows logically.
What's great about it: download of mutual funds, comarisons to prior years
What's not so great: I was not able to download a W-2 from my wifes employer

I love Turbo Tax. One year I switched to another software to file, and what a mistake!!

Fun Filing

From start to finish this program walks you through every detail. I feel confident that I won't miss anything because I'm not educated about all the new tax laws. It makes it effortless to file without having to compile all the papers to send in the mail. I use this program each year and I love that it transfers all the necessary information to the new year files, saving a lot of data entry time. I use the one that includes the state because it also transfers all information from your federal form to the state and makes the whole experience smooth sailing.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: nothing
