2012 Taxes

Last year, 2011, I was forced to file by mail because Turbo Tax would not accept a modified 1099-R. I made many phone calls, experienced extreme frustration, provided several complaints and was not a happy customer. I entered the 2012 Tax season with many reservations and procrastinated until late March. WOW! Was I surprised. When I started entering my 1099-R data, the capability of modifying and explaining the need was straight forward, simple and accurate. It was so simple, I do not remember the steps because I entered the process and then it was complete. Fantastic work in listening to my raving last year and solving the problem so completely. Thank you very much.

GOOD PROGRAM - DOES NEED UPDATE FOR SEPARATE VS. JOINT FILING. SHOULD BE ABLE TO FILL IN ITEMS THEN COMPARE JOINT VS SEPARATE.
What's great about it: ROLLOVER OF INFORMATION OF PRIOR YEAR
What's not so great: NO EASY WAY TO COMPARE FILING SEPARATE FROM JOINT

A great package regardless of your experience level
What's great about it: Consistency in appearance from year to year - been using for 6 or 7 years
What's not so great: Not sure worked was saved and no automatic return to where I left off

I'm a math savvy. But, when it comes to fill a tax return it's a nightmare. Turbo Tax has helped me to navigate and to understand the complex rules of tax and calculations. Its' "turbo" and it did save me time and helped me to avoid frustration. I love this this software and will recommend my friends to use it too.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate, easy to understand, support is always standby

Efficient and Easy to Do

I have used TurboTax for years now and wouldn't even think of doing my taxes without it. Every possible deduction and tax-saver is there to remind me what I need to include. The forms are comprehensive and especially the charitable deductions. I use the "It's Deductible" thing during the year and that helps me immensely.
What's great about it: Everything was there, step by step, and it was extremely easy to complete. All you have to do is have your documents.
What's not so great: Having to FIND the documents!!

Easy State Return

While I only purchased Federal and State Deluxe, you gave an opportunity to upgrade to possibly answer the questions on rental income and casualty losses.
I have successfully dealt with the issues in past years, but the return was more difficult this year. I did not address the casualty loss in this return.
What's great about it: The state return was almost entirely completed by transfer of data from Fedeeral return.
What's not so great: Federal rental income could use some more detailed instructions. Similarly for casualty losses.

Usability of your product was awesome.

I've been using your product for a few years now and would love to continue using it in the future. I've seen tremendous improvement in the product since the time I've started using it. It makes it very easy and friendly to file tax returns, which is darn good.
What's great about it: Usability, Ease, Speed
What's not so great: Some descriptions could be better
Pros: I had a baby, I bought or sold investments
