I have been using TurboTax for a few years now. It save me so much for money to use it rather than going to a tax office. It is more easy that going though all the forms on my own and I am more confident in my calculations and that I am getting all the deductions that I deserve.
What's great about it: So easy to use and thorough

Error messages not clear

well, after I FINALLY corrected linking my 1099 income correctly to my Sch C's, I was finally able to efile. The error message was very unclear and I ended up deleting my schedule C's and starting all over again. The error message regarding a statutory employee (which I am) was really ...really HARD to get nailed down. and I was going to have to snail-mail, but one more try to get it right and YEAH it worked...
What's not so great: error messages are difficult to clear
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Comprehensive process for compleing tax documentd

TurboTax 2012 is comprehensive because it contains questions to guide a user through all the steps needed to enter data and calculate federal and state tax documents. Sometimes the questions cover so many possible situations that they are more than a user wants to answer before entering their own personal data.
As a retiree , my taxes now are more complicated so once I got into 401b accounts, investments with stock sales, and dividend forms I was being directed to areas of the program that were new to me and I was much slower to understand how to answer questions and how/where to ener the data provided me.
Overall, I am very happy with TurboTax and have been using the program for more than 6 years.
What's great about it: All steps needed to review all tax situations.
What's not so great: Not always able to follow the steps as directed.

I have used TurboTax for the last four years...I have been self-employed, employed by someone else, divorced, and began helping one of my kids file...TurboTax has guided me through ALL of this!

User friendly

If you use the standard deduction for federal but need the itemized for state, it does not print the itemized deduction for the state.
