Always a breeze with Turbo Tax!

Overall, I wouldn't use any other Tax preparation product. I've been using it for years and it hasn't let me down yet. Turbo Tax rocks!
What's great about it: guidance throughtout the filing process
What's not so great: business schedule C can be confusing without assistance

easy, but disappointed...

Easy, step-by-step guide. However, when asked to fill in the "Private Plan #" somewhere in the filing, you need to let people know they just need to re-enter their Employer's ID # again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why change lingo in the middle of the filing process?? I wasted a LOT of time trying to figure out what I was supposed to enter. Not fun!
Also, could NOT find my filing fees from last year ANYWHERE in my files from last year!!!
Disappointed in software this year.
What's great about it: Really easy to file! Been using TurboTax since 1999.
What's not so great: Could NOT find last year's filing fees ANYWHERE on my paperwork from last year!

Slow scrolling and doesn't do gift tax

On windows 7 with a onboard graphics card (and updated drivers), turbotax deluxe was extremely slow scrolling windows up and down. This was so frustrating that it could lead to missed input.
Turbo-tax does not address gift taxes or 529 plan contributions. While these forms don't need to be filed with regular taxes, contributing too much to a 529 plan or as a gift could lead to big tax penalties. The rules for this are very complicated and turbotax could help make this easier to deal with.
What's great about it: Easy to use, prevents errors
What's not so great: Very slow scrolling on win 7, does not address gift tax limits

The only topic I could not find clear information on was when receiving a monetary gift whether or not I need to fill out an additional tax form. I had to search the internet to find this information.

Excellent and Easy!

This is the first year I have used Turbo Tax and I loved it!! This was much faster than the old paper/pencil way I had been doing our taxes! I was able to breeze right through entering all the information. It asked me questions and explained the topics thoroughly so I could gather the necessary info/documents and enter the correct figures.
What's great about it: Super Easy and Fast
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2012 Taxes w/Turbo Tax

I was happy that this ended up being so easy to use. I had copies with Turbo Tax from the prior year which helped make this years returns go faster. When the comparison checks prior years it picks up things you may not have thought about that you can use currently. Doing taxes is never fun, using Turbo Tax makes it easy!
What's great about it: Very Easy to use
What's not so great: None this time

Takes You Through, Step By Step!

10+ year user of TT it continues to be reliable, easy and friendly approach to taxes. Would like to see free state e-file included w Deluxe. Also, would like purchase option for state efile upfront instead of separate transaction.
What's great about it: Start and Stop - Pick Up Right Where You Left Off
What's not so great: 2nd year in a row misplaced vehicle property taxes, had to backtrack to fix!

Good Stuff

We had to begin from scratch this year because my hard drive crashed with 2011 version. It was not as bad as I expected. I do suggest you have the program carry forward the users name and address throughout to the final action.
I really appreciated versions that had the previous years entry listed next to the question boxes, this REALLY simplified things and speeds up the process.
We have used TurboTax every year since 2000. We must be satisfied customers to keep returning every year.
