Turbotax gets better

Turbotax gets better each year. I use the itemized form. It's easy to compare the numbers from last year when I put in this years numbers. The problem is the tax code is so convoluted it's sometimes hard to understand other sections.

First year using TurboTax

I liked the way Turbo Tax walked me through the return prep process, step-by-step. We've used a different tax prep software package in the past, and chose Turbo Tax because we have a small business for which we're using Quickbooks, and we thought the data would flow seamlessly from QB to TT. Not so. We run Quickbooks on a different PC, but copied the QB database onto the PC running Turbo Tax, thinking TT would have an import feature to bring in the business profit & loss info. It doesn't - I had to key in all the data to Turbo Tax, so that was disappointing. I hope it works better next year.
What's great about it: I liked the logical, step-by-step process to completing the return
What's not so great: disappointed in the interface with Quickbooks

Easy to use - recommend for everyone, I will buy again.
What's great about it: Step-by-step instructions with IRS PUB information backup
What's not so great: Doesn't allow printer adjustment for long forms

Very logical, very easy, walks me through the steps without any issues, when I have a question, help function answers it. Had to call for help 2 times this year, both times assistance excellent and helped me answer my questions
What's great about it: Very logical, very easy, walks me through the steps without any issues, when there is a question, help function is good
What's not so great: none!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax for 2012 Income Tax Returns

Overall Turbo Tax was a good program.
What's great about it: Good program. It guided me through the steps in good order.
What's not so great: Felt as if I was working in a blind as I could not see where the data was going on the forms until the last steps.

If you can read and follow directions, you can do your taxes with Turbotax. I have an accounting degree and had college courses in tax accounting. Turbotax keeps up with changing laws for me and I can file my taxes with confidence.
What's great about it: Everything
