Why I use Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax for many years to do not only my taxes but those of my children, parents and close friends. I have not every had a problem with the program. I like that it can keep track of my depreciation for my rental property and I don't have to do the figuring.
What's great about it: I can do my taxes from home in my time.
What's not so great: Haven't found any yet.

Always has an answer

I have been using Turbo Tax for years now and I have always been pleased. As my tax situation gets more complicated as I grow older, the software always has an answer. Navigation is easy and the interface has gotten even better each year. I will continue to use Turbo Tax as long as I can!
What's great about it: Very thorough, easy to navigate, plenty of options
What's not so great: Can be slow to update at times
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I've been using Turbo Tax since 1999 and it mostly has worked fine. A few years ago, it took me down a blind alley during the guided tour and created an incorrect entry on a schedule that I thought I had backed out of, result being that I underpaid my taxes without realizing it. Three years later my state's Dept of Revenue found the error and assessed me for the back taxes plus interest penalties that were nearly as much as the taxes!
The lesson from that is, you have to go back through before e-filing and check all the schedules to be sure there is nothing unexpected. This is an unfortunate byproduct of our unnecessarily complex tax code. Overall, Turbo Tax still is way better than doing these on paper.
I have not tried competing products so cannot comment on them.
What's great about it: Remembers my information from year to year
What's not so great: You can't totally rely on the guided tour esp. for State return.

I appreciate that Turbo tax walks you through all forms, even the ones I'm not sure what to do with. Also, it is amazing that they are able to pull last year's information. This saved so much time!!
What's great about it: anyone can file their taxes with Turbotax
What's not so great: didn't seem compatible with Google Chrome

I have been using Turbo Tax for 15 years. I love how I can keep track of things throughout the year in It's Deductible. When it is time to file taxes, I can just hit a button and it imports and calculates immediately. I love how Turbo Tax makes the best choices for me. I love the Turbo Tax Community question board. It has helped me answer a few of my own questions through the years. I am by no means a tax guru, but Turbo Tax makes me feel like one!! Thanks Turbo Tax!

Nice refund, for a change

My 4th year using TurboTax, and I've never had a problem with using it, other than the cost. There's really only 2 things I find annoying about it: the repetitive upsell screens (for AuditDefense and other Intuit products); and, the lack of a feature that collapses previously completed sections to a single line when you advance to a new section. Scrolling down to find the next section to work is simple, I know, but a simple design feature would make the product a LOT better from a user's perspective.
What's great about it: Transitions from one section another were smooth. Vast majority of the instructions and prompts were understandable.
What's not so great: Would be nice if completed previous sections were collapsed as new sections are started.
