I noticed that there were items I could deduct in my 2011 state taxes that I could not deduct in 2012. (e.g. public contributions to a library). It would have been nice to have been able to pull up what I was able to itemize last year and receive a note about what is now ineligible in 2012. Unfortunately, I had to spend some extra time on my 2012 return searching for a possible location to include my library donations.
What's great about it: Can walk away feeling confident that I entered everything I needed to enter
What's not so great: Could have explained some changes to state deductions. See my Review.

MT elderly renters credit did not work the same as in previous years. Form is there and submitted so we will see if we get the credit. Previous years it appeared as a MT refund. Little more explanation would be nice for this.
What's great about it: very easy to follow and enter data
What's not so great: MT renter's credit a little confusing

I've been a TurboTax user for several years and this year's version seems to be the easiest yet to fill out. It would be nice to be able to compare the previous year's return line by line to this year's return. Maybe next year...
What's great about it: Easy to follow programming
What's not so great: Missing detailed comprison to previous years tax returns

Minor glitches i mentioned above is pertaining to the transfer of all information from FEDERAL to STATE returns. The employee expense does not automatically transfer from Federal to State.
What's great about it: The layout is fantastic.
What's not so great: Minor glitches is on the software.

I have a very complex return with 2 W2s, 8 1099s, 1 K-1, and a home business office. It still only took 2 hours to do my taxes.
What's great about it: Very easy even with complex returns
What's not so great: would like to see the form being filled out maybe with a split screen
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I initially tried to use Turbo Tax online and thought I was going to have to pay. I talked to a few friends and they thought I had to fill out an additional form, but no one knew exactly which form that would be. I contacted the online support and Irene was awesome! She confirmed that I did in fact need that form, but it wasn't available on the online version. She told me exactly which version I would need to buy and then emailed me exact instructions on how to find the form I needed and exactly how to fill it out! I wasn't thrilled about the money I had to spend, but in reality, I spent less than going to get my taxes done or if I hadn't asked, the money I thought I owed!!!
What's great about it: fast, online help rocked!
What's not so great: lots of additional charges

I've used TTAX since it was a DOS program. It continues to please.
What's great about it: Simple to follow
What's not so great: Constant updates make me unsure of how early I can file.

The filing was generally easy and straightforward. More complicated issues have only a cursory explanation though and make that part of the process difficult.
The valuation program for donated items is helpful but cumbersome if there are several items (which we always have for goodwill).
Saving and printing are more difficult than need be with too many additional pages using up ink cartridges
What's great about it: generally easy to use
What's not so great: More complex issues are not explained adequately
