I don't know what went wrong with this years Turbotax. I have already contacted the help line once & looks like I'm heading that way again with my daugthers return. She worked out of state for 2 different companys & this program is just not up to it. Maybe I can get it to work, but next year I'm thinking about a different tax company.

I could not get my state tax to populate and then when I continued I ended up paying $39.95 for state tax and still could not get it to generate

On Line Help was Awesome

I was unable to complete my returns due to a glitch in the online process of my state return. I contacted the online support via chat and downloaded the desktop version and the agent was totally helpful and was able to sucesfully complete my returns.
What's great about it: Awesome online help
What's not so great: Poor online software glitch

Awesome solution to start with U.S. taxes. I just relocated from Russia, where I didn't have to mess with taxes at all (everything is done by employer, and refunds are extremely rare for a person), so the first filing of US taxes seemed intimidating. However, it was not bad at all with this software =)
What's great about it: Quick and easy
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

It won't let you print a hard copy of the return to review it. I tried several times and finally got a copy but it wasn't easy. I hope it is made easier for next year!!!
What's great about it: I like that it walks you through everything.
What's not so great: It is very difficult to try and print a copy.

going with other software next year

I do not know how the software can fill out "worksheets" wrong and then change checked boxes when rechecking the results. If I delete a form or move item to different accounts it is easier to start a brand new return than is is to make corrections to an existing return. When I go to print the return I do not care about the" worksheets" which I never use (because I am following instructions with the program) and do not want to print. I also do not care to see instruction pages or thankyou pages to keep for my records. When I finally got things printed out I need to start a fire to get rid of all of the useless information printed.
What's great about it: did finish the taxes
What's not so great: more worksheets which i do not need and filled out wrong & more dead trees
