Easy to use; some surprises

I used the deluxe product with a "free" state return product. It was very straightforward for most of the return, but hard to follow in the rental section. We sold our home after renting it for a year, and TurboTax collected all of the information in the rental section but then added some of the information to other sections without being clear which sections or why. Granted, it did advise me I should spend more money on the Premiere version for this situation.
The only other problem I had is that the "Free" state return really only refers to the software - you still have to pay for the efiling.
What's great about it: Straightforward, clear, don't have to keep track of forms
What's not so great: Don't immediately know which forms it's filling info into; state return NOT ACTUALLY FREE

Easy to complete

Turbo Tax has been consistently easy, clear and concise in assisting in gathering all the forms needed for filing Federal and State taxes. This program has suggested using specific information to safely obtain the greatest number of deductions considering all income and expenses incurred in working situation. An example is ability to deduct mileage between work sites that are not reimbursed by employer. I would definately recommend using Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: guides through each category with "pop up" boxes that explains clearly the subject/ question
What's not so great: Changes in entry after revew not consistently clear

Income tax

I used to do my income taxes by hand and it would take forever. Turbotax actually makes it fun to do my taxes now.
What's great about it: excellent, time saving, people friendly, and accurate
What's not so great: I would like to see state taxes submitted without a charge

I did like the compatison of this year to last but that seems to have been removed from this years version. To bad I had to do the comparison on paper.

Fast, reliable and easy

Turbo Tax 2012

I don't understand why it asks questions from last year when it imported the information from last years return. It seems every year I have to open the prior year for Income and taxes paid. And there is always a question on my Roth conversion when it imported the information.
What's great about it: Makes it a lot easier
