Turbo Tax Review

We have used Turbo Tax for over Six years. The ease of the self-guiding instruction, completion of forms and filing at my own pace is perfect. No more appointments for tax preparation unless they are really necessary!

Fast and Simple

The program makes filing taxes as painless as possible. Once you use it, the following years are easier since most of the work is already done. There are Help links and explanations to be found everywhere within the program, along with links to the Turbo Tax community. It shows you the previous year's numbers next to the current numbers so you can easily see if things are off. We've been using TurboTax for over 10 years and highly recommend it.
What's great about it: Very straightforward and easy to follow
What's not so great: Dealing with taxes - yuck

Easy to use

I have been using Turbo tax for about 8 years now and have been very happy with this product. I will contine to use turbo Tax and recomend to friends and Family.
What's great about it: the step by step process made it very simple
What's not so great: Some deductions were hard to itemize

When I go to check back on an entry it then guide me to the rest of the section.

Another year of taxes in the rear view mirror!

Three hours is all it took, from starting to download the software, through transferring last year's file to the new computer,data entry and e-file. It doesn't get much easier or intuitive (pun intended).
I get the audit defense adder each year. It's cheap insurance, and having had to use it once, it is invaluable!
What's great about it: Intuitive, good directions, & good help

Have used electronic tax software since the early 1990's. TurboTax is, by default, the best and most supported tax preparation software available. From my perspective, it is easy to file, and the electronic submission and direct deposit refunds are a great convenience.
As a father of working young adults, the ability to file returns for my kids was a great feature. Now that they are out of the house, I thought I was done, but this year I have/get to do my Mother-in-law's return! Yikes!
What's great about it: Ability to file more than one return helps Dad help his kids
What's not so great: A lot of down selling (but easy to say "No")
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
