I used Turbo Tax 3 years running to prepare my taxes and everything has been perfect! I recommend Turbo Tax to anyone that wants a fast and efficient way to complete their taxes. I will definitely be using Turbo Tax next year in 2014!

Good tool but be careful

When using TurboTax, run it, uninstall it, run it and repeat as necessary before you file it.
The first time for me, it calculated that I was getting back $5,600+ for federal and $149,700+ for state! (This is on an income of about $40,000). I uninstalled TurboTax, re-installed it and started from scratch. Everything was entered EXACTLY the same.
This time, it calculated that I was getting back just over $1600 federal and $450 from state. I went with the second one and I'm crossing my fingers, toes, eyes, shoelaces, etc. as it sounds very similar to what I received last year. I'm still wondering.
TurboTax is fairly easy, but pay attention to the results. If you are faint of heart, use caution.

A Committed Relationship

In 2006 my accountant told me I could file myself because my stuff was so simple. He recommended Turbo Tax. I thought he was nuts and I was honestly intimidated. However, in January 2007 and I took the leap and haven't looked back. Turbo Tax has held my hand through children going and coming, 401K moves and every tax change our wonderful government has thrown at us. I can't even imagine trying another tax software. You have 100% of my customer loyalty.
What's great about it: Everything! I love the hints, the links, the form ids listed in each area so you know what to dig out of the paper pile
What's not so great: No computer hands included for a Turbo high five at the end of a successful filing!

Finished so fast!!

I got my taxes done extremely fast, and all items were clearly defined and easy to use... except for the 1099-G form. Since there is one that is defined for Unemployment, I had to call the California Tax Franchise Office to figure out what my 1099-G form was for. They clarified it for me, whereas TurboTax had 2 completely different sections for that form, and I just so happened to stumble on the right place to enter that 1099-G information after speaking with the tax franchise office.
What's great about it: Quick and easy to use.
