I have fairly complex return. Capital gains, ESPP, itemized deductions, and, unfortunately, AMT. Once you've gathered your information, it's just as easy to enter into Turbotax as pay some overpriced preparer to do the same thing. A few years back it seemed like stepping through the forms was kind of awkward, with lots of questions irrelevant to 99.99% of the population. They seem to have streamlined it. Finally, the transfer from last year is invaluable, so I guess I'm hooked forever.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Annoying diversions to try to sell you add-ons

I've been using TurboTax for many years and the product continues to get better and easier to use every year. I tried another product a few years back and came back to turbotax immediately. No comparison!! This year's product is so easy that any first time tax preparer would have no difficulty in preparing their forms. So glad that there are no filing fees involved.
What's great about it: great product for newcomers, or those inexperienced with filing their own taxes
What's not so great: none.

Good for most common items

I continue to have issues with IRAs distinguishing between what's deductible and what's not. I also had trouble determining sales tax deductions.
What's great about it: Simple with explanations when needed
What's not so great: Didn't address my situation for a couple of things

Quick and Easy!

Turbo Tax is a great product! It walks you through the process using intelligent and logical questions, just like an expert tax preparer would do. It even has the capability to import your tax forms/info directly from their relevant financial institutions and mint.com accounts. The software also gets smarter year after year and will remember your information so you don't have to.
What's great about it: fast, easy, inuitive, accurate
What's not so great: the "other income" section is a little confusing

Timed saved tax refund

We now don't have to deal with a slow and expensive accountant, thanks to Turbo Tax, and do it on our time. This is much less stressful.

Awesome process

I have been using Turbo Tax for the past several years, having no knowledge of taxes, Turbo Tax makes filing taxes, both federal and state, extremely simple. Will continue to use Turbo Tax in the future!
