Very good FED tax prep package

Overall I very much liked Turbo Tax.
I made some data entry mistakes on initial input. When I tried to correct them, I had problem navigating to the appropriate plce to re-edit my input. This occured when i had to change a Federal 1099-S form.
Otherwise, Turbo Tax is a great tool and very helpful to use.
What's great about it: I liked the way Turbo Tax looked for appropriate filing form based on my inputs.
What's not so great: Self navigatin interface is a little primitive - hard to navigate

This makes filing so easy when faced with pages and pages of investment sales. I would have run out of patience had I been filing by hand.

Slow federal return due to education credits

Dispite the fact that the IRS took 4 weeks to accept my return, I could not think about using aother program. Simply fill in the blanks, answer some questions, review the return and you are done. I just did a return on my daughter and an 1040EZ and it only took me 20 minutes. My return took me several hours due to the complexity.
What's great about it: Still easy as ever

While not all banks were listed, more data could be loaded this year than in the past, saving alot of time. I think this improves every year - but there is still some room for improvement in both options of payers and W-2s (one employer was available but did not work). When I was able to have the data load, the process is easy.
What's great about it: Loading data from payers (where available) was easy
What's not so great: Unable to link to all payers of interest/dividends

This year I actually received a refund from my resident state (I work in another) - previously i was paying disability taxes to two states and ended up owing. However Turbotax quickly implemented this new treaty and it worked out great!
What's great about it: Fast, clear and easy to read. Easy filing and payments
What's not so great: Additional state is costly

It was my first time doing my own taxes and I thought it was really helpful. I was able to just type in the information in the documents and have it completed accurately. Some of the questions were confusing but only because they didn't apply to me.

Very user friendly, easy for a first-timer

Ease of loading information excellent. The carry over from previous year makes things less labor intensive. My husband used Turbo Tax last year, but this is my first time. We will surely use Turbo Tax again in future years.
What's great about it: Completed at your leisure
What's not so great: none that I can think of
