Horrible grill, lasted only 3 years

The grill has an upscale look that hides its faults. Firebox, burners and all the guts have corroded out. Religiously used a cover. Won't be buying again. Up until everything fell apart, I liked it alot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rusted out completely in 6 years

The grill was great for the first 3-4 years. Now it's entirely rust rotted out. The burner shields have rusted out completely to the point of falling apart. The top rack rusted in half and I never use it. The firebox below the burners rusted through at the rivets in the back and now just hangs there. The porcelain cracked off the grates then started rusting heavily. I know Charbroil recommends a nylon brush but how practical is that? You can't use nylon once the grill is hot. Also the non-stainless parts of the grill discolored horribly and I couldn't get it clean.
Having said all that the burners are nice and hot, the ignitor still works, and the side burner is hot as well. I wish it had utensil hooks. If you're looking for a short-term grill this would work fine.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT

I purchased a grill like this in 5/2012. Fire box has completely burned out. This grill never worked properly & Char-Broil was no help to correct problem. I have grilled for 20+ yrs & never had a grill preform so poorly. Would not recommend any product from Char-Broil

I had a Char-Broil for years, and replaced it with this one. The thermometer broke within a month, and also there is a design flaw - if the cover had a lip to overlap with the bottom to keep the rain off the grates and from leaking into the grease cup it would be a much better product. As it is I have rusty grates, greasy/water emulsion leaking on my deck, and am going to get rid of this and buy a different product. Sad- my prior product lasted for years (actually I still have it).

Heating is very uneven. More on the rear side. The thing (where you place the food) moves a lot when I use the brush to clean. Would be better if it was a snugger fit.

I both this grill last year. It went together relatively easily. It gives sufficient flame t good everything . My only gripe would be the starter. It takes a few tries before the ignitor lights the grill.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can a spark be seen from the electrode when starting the grill? Make sure that the electrode is always .25 inches away from the burner port hole so that the grill can light easily. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.

This was my first gas grill and I am so happy that I decided to purchase it! It was a easy setup, and when I fired it up it only took a few times before I figured out how to cook great steaks like you would expect from a top class steak house. Now every chance I get I'm firing up the grill!
