This combo product is very high-tech. Need instruction manual and practice with how to use it properly and it's a big transition using convection capabilities for the first time,, but a good one.. The microwave runs very loundly and rattles and does not shut off when the time is up; rather keeps "running" until cancel is hit and/or food is taken out. Annoying. Also, the timer's set/start key first displays Hour; then Minutes option and you have to hit it again to get to Minutes and seconds option. Seems that should be reversed as have never timed anything an hour or more, especially with the convention oven options through which oven timer is set. I love how it looks in stainless steel with black and would buy it again regardless.
Pros: Design, Innovative, once understanding how it thinks it's easy to use, Performance
Cons: noisy rattling microwave keeps going

This is a feature-rich oven. We keep discovering new features, even after six months. Guess we should have followed the store's recommendation and carefully read the user's guide.
My wife is very pleased. She says this is by far the best over she has ever had. The crisper pan is a bit hit. She is discovering she can do more with the smaller top oven which we like.
All this and it looks terrific, too.
I would definitely recommend this unit.

Disappointed

I bought this oven to replace a 25 year old Kitchenaid wall unit. I use the upper microwave/convection oven daily without problems. The lower conventional oven is a problem. I may set the temperature to bake at (example)350 degrees. The oven lets me know when the preheating has reached 350 and not start the timing countdown until I have put my pans in the oven. However, I have found the oven is not at 350 even though that temperature is indicated. On the advice of the installer I purchased a metal thermometer that can be set on or hung from the oven rack. Regardless of where I place it this independent thermometer registers a temp much lower than the one on the oven sometimes by as much as 50 degrees. Even though the temp will eventually reach the correct degree I should not need to stand over the oven making calculations. When cooking a casserole with an incorrect cooking temp, time can be adjusted. A cake is different. I have ruined meals in this new oven. I am terribly disappointed and wish I could get my old oven back. I expected more from Kitchenaid.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago to replace the exact same that failed just after warranty. Would have considered other brands but felt "held hostage" because of built in cut out dimensions in cabinetry.
