We had our new compactor installed in October and have been very pleased with it. We looked at several models and options before selecting the whirlpool compactor, glad we made the right choice! I would highly recommend it.

We had never owned a compactor before and had gotten used to making a trip a day to empty trash. With our new compactor its 2 trips a week. So quiet and it matches our other Whirlpool appliances beautifully. Love it!

Solid to Start

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just replaced a three-year-old GE compactor that was a source of constant problems and never worked well. This new Whirlpool compactor looks good and seems to be very solid. I will let you know in three years how well it worked.

Great addition to the kitchen!

We have one bag of trash a week with the use of the compactor. Our area is mandatory recycle so only trash goes in there. It does a great job of keeping it compact and tight. I've had a Whirlpool compactor for 19 years. I only replaced with new to go from a black kitchen to stainless steel. I never needed any repairs on the old one at all.

Great Compactor

If you have shopped for trash compactors, you know that they are not cheap. This one was at the lower end of the cost curve. But I was buying it to replace one that was in the house when I bought the house. The house was built in '84 and I'm sure the compactor was in the house at that time. It was a similar Whirlpool. If that one lasted 29 years before it stopped working, I was comfortable replacing it with the same though updated model. The compactor is sleek and beautiful. It was easy to install and can be disabled to prevent children from playing with it. I am also pleased with the sound levels. I can't say that it is exactly quiet but I don't think any compactor is. What I can say is that it is a vast improvement over the one I replaced. And, after purchasing several Whirlpool products, I have found their quality and reliability to be very high.

I had my previous Whirlpool compactor since 1978 and still going strong but I wanted to update my appliances w stainless steel. I picked another Whirlpool compactor because I never had a problem or service call w my first Whirlpool compactor and because they were made in USA!!!
