[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My last compactor was a 17yo KitchenAid . It always worked well. I needed to switch to a stainless steel compactor so chose KA again. This one works fine but feels less sturdy, I wonder about its longevity

Replacement for problem prone GE compactor

Replaced the GE compactor a couple of weeks ago after fighting it for about four years. The new Whirlpool was easy to install and level and works fine. The only problem is the placement of the foot switch to operate the compactor. It is to low and I am constantly hitting it with my toe when working at the counter.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great investment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love our trash compactor. Makes taking the trash easy and less frequent than without a compactor. It would be helpful to have a larger foot pedal to open it and perhaps locating the compacting button so that it doesn't get bumped easily.
