Still working on the first charge! Wish the electrical plug into the shaver was much more secure so that it doesn't fall out. Wish you made a simple, non-battery, electric plug in with 110/220 switch. My old one lasted well over ten years. I doubt that this one will be as reliable. Time will tell.

Not as good as 7310XL shaver
on September 17, 2013

Had at least 2, 7310XL shavers over last 4+ years. Very satisfied with model. No longer available so bought a PT730 model as seemed almost the same design. I assume blade design is different after 2+ weeks of use because it does not shave near as close as 7310 model. If it was intended to be an improvement, it failed. I am very disappointed in the quality of the 730 model.

Hello,

We’re sorry for the disappointment you had using our Philips electric shaver.

You may adapt the below given steps for best shaving technique and get good results.

• Move the shaving heads over the skin, making both straight and circular movements.

• Your skin may need 2-3 weeks to get accustomed to this Philips system.

• To prevent damage, put the protection cap on the shaver after use.

Your first shaves may not give you the result you expect and your skin may even become slightly irritated. This is not uncommon since your skin and beard need time to adapt to any new shaving system.

It is recommended to take into account an adaptation period of 3 weeks, during which you should shave regularly (at least 3 times per week) to allow your hair and skin to adapt to the new shaver.

During this period, use your new electric shaver exclusively and do not alternate shaving methods; alternating shaving methods makes it more difficult to adapt to the new shaving system.

If the problem still persists, please reach out to Philips Consumer Care on 1-800-243-3050.

This is my second Norelco shaver. I was very happy with my old one until the switch freaked. This one works just as well. Very easy for me to recommend it.

Looks good on paper, but. . . .

Shaver works good but will fill with whiskers in the blades until it gets so many that it gets hot. I clean it every time, but the brush does not get into the area of the blades. I blow it out with a dust-off can each time, but if I don't make sure the blades are clear, they will build up again. I have used Norelco for the past twenty years and this is by far the worst for extended performance. I have owned this one for about a year. Caveat emptor. . .
Cons: will not completely clean

Norelco Shavers New vs Old
on November 22, 2018

Used Norelco for over 35 yrs. I keep previous Norelco as backup to newer design. Differences noted are: 1)combs/cutters on the new don't catch or cut whiskers as well as my older shaver...takes many more passes and holding shaver at different positions to catch whiskers, 2)cutters/motor runs at much lower rpm, to save battery time I suppose, 3)shaving now takes longer, 4) can get only 2-2.5 shaves from single charge, 5)8 hrs charging time seems long to me for only getting 2-2.5 shaves, 6)I agree 45 mins is probably run time on a charge but that is an absolute max..mean run time is less, 7)I shave until all face, entire neck front and back, portion of head top are as smooth as a babies skin...no quicky shaves where whiskers will snag on shirt collars, 8)I also use a separate Norelco ear & nostril trimmer every shave to better remove those hairs.
Pros: lighter weight
Cons: takes longer to shave w new design, long charge time, combs/cutters not as efficient as older designs, runs at much lower rpm, replace heads are hard to find unless u know subs

misleading package
on December 26, 2012

I bought this razor because I have always bought Norelco Elec razors. In 40yrs of buying Electric razors I have never found one that didn't have a pop up trimmer. SEE PIC BELOW, I bought the PT720 thinking it had a pop up trimmer. NOPE got it home, charged it, and finished my shave, it worked great!, Then I went to trim my side burns and GUESS WHAT NO POP UP TRIMMER !
I thought this had to be a mistake so I got the Box out, spent 30 minutes reading it from front to back and there is no mention of a pop up trimmer. So I looked on line, spending another 30 minutes reading and searching through the razors and found that the PT730 has the pop up, not the PT720!
I asked my wife how she could have made the mistake, and she said it was the same box and in the PT730 SPOT on the shelf in the store. WELL LOOKING AT THE BOX closely I can see why she picked up the wrong one. YOU LOOK AND TELL ME WHICH ONE OF THE HAS THE POP UP TRIMMER LISTED ON THE BOX!
Now I have to spend more GAS MONEY appox 3-4 gals at 3.50 per gal = $14.00 (I get 13 mpg)
so its 28 miles (one way) to take it back to the store she got it at. Then add in the extra time to
go replace/exchange the unit is almost 1 hr. She thought it was the unit i printed out for her, especially since it was in the same slot at the store for the PT730's
Pros: none
Cons: misleading packaging, no pop up timmer on the 720
