This is my third Norelco shaver and overall I've been very happy with their products. The PT730 kept the streak going.
The design is simple, yet has all the functions that I wanted. It fits into my hands well and is comfortable for the duration of the shave. The heads swivel enough to trim all areas of my face and neck. The pop-up trimmer works well and is always a nice feature for touching up sideburns or other facial hair. The head is hinged on the back and easily opens to allow you to dispose of the shavings inside. The head is also washable, which makes cleaning even easier. The battery is advertised to last 40 minutes and, while I haven't set it on the counter and watched the clock until it dies, I do think that's fairly accurate as I can generally go about two weeks between charges. The light on the front does a fine job showing when the battery needs to be charged and when the charge is complete. All these features add up to a nice product.
I do, however, have a complaint. I don't think I get quite as close a shave as I did with my old shaver. My face is smooth enough, but I seem to arrive at a five o'clock shadow a bit faster than I did before. My wife has also noticed this. She has mentioned (while it's never been enough to be a big deal) that my face feels a little rougher on occasion, especially towards the end of the day. This isn't too big a concern, because it still does a fine job, but getting a little closer shave would be nice. Since the point of this device is to take the hair off your face, this is enough to knock off a star in my opinion.
Overall this is a great shaver, even if it doesn't give you the closest shave you've ever had (get a foil shaver if that's solely what you're after). The features like the washable head and pop-up trimmer, along with the comfortable design and good battery life, make this a solid purchase. I recommend this for anyone looking for a good, all-purpose shaver.

Disappointed in quality of this new shaver compared to older models. Shave is not as close as my old Norelco. I also miss my flip out trimming head. I am disappointed & may return it.

I am very happy with this product. It provides a close shave, is easy to clean and the head guard stays on. I read many other reviews before I settled on this purchase. I am pleased with the charging and battery monitor system, although I don't need a re-chargable shaver, corded would be just fine for me, but there are none. I have used Philips/Norelco products for years. The only complaint is that tiny cleaning brush. I usually lose it within the first few seconds of opening the box.

I have used a razor shaver for more than 50 years. I switched to this Norelco because of a tendon problem in my hand. I was surprised to find how well the electric shaver worked. I may not go back to my old shaving habits.
