We purchase this gift mainly to watch DVD movies and its proven to be good for the price we paid. I would certainly recommend it for the other nice feautures it offers.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

For DVD's this works great, unfortunately for streaming Netflix I have had nothing but problems, have tried two different wireless modems that work with any other wireless streaming device but not with this player. About 15 minutes into a program everything locks up. I have troubleshot everything, have excellent internet speed, Netflx has troubleshot it, the only thing it could be is this player.
So if there is any recommendation I would have, it would be: Get this player if all you are going to do is play DVD's. Too bad as I really like all other LG products I have owned.

As many have already reported, we were very disappointed with the false marketing of features on this player. The first picture you see under features for this very model shows all kinds of things that are really not available, such as Hulu+ etc. We have also had connectivity issues which is strange b/c our old Wii connects to our internet 98% better than this device.
All in all, the picture quality is good, but only by it if you simply want a blu-ray player for watching dvds.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very easy to set up and use. The hookup to the internet was simple and only took a couple of minutes. BlueRay discs are clear and the controls are very easy to undferstand. Hooking up the unit to the tv was simple, plug in the HDMI cable to the tv and plug the tv power cord in and enjoy. I wish all things could be so easy.
I have recomended this to my closest of friends!
