We have used numerous Roomba's over the years that have all had the same terrible design flaws that catch hair, sting and dust in areas that you cant get cleaned out of the Roomba causing it to not perform well. The Roomba is the most returned item at [...] stores because of these issues. They are more intrested in making it cheaper to build then a flawless design.
Pros: Good power, Recharges fast
Cons: Clogs in areas, No improvement on IR site, Poor Design

Karcher RC3000 is a much better product

I bought Roomba and Karcher RC3000 in Europe in 2010. My Roomba was dead even before its first anniversary. My Karcher on the other hand is still cleaning my home now. I am writing this review so people become aware before buying Roomba that their happiness is not going to last very long and it is better to spend a little bit more money on a much durable product: the Karcher RC3000 Robocleaner that is. Durability is very important and Irobot fails to develope a lasting product.

My credit card billing address is Australia. I tried to order a Roomba as a present and have it sent to a US address. The website will happily accept a non-US billing address - it even has an option for that. HOWEVER - they will then take and store all your information for an order they will then refuse to fulfill! No reason for this will be provided. Ring customer service and an automated system will tell you your order is cancelled and then hang up. Ring again and get a real live person - and they will try to sell you a tall tale about how they cannot process an overseas card because the currency will be wrong. (Do they believe NO-ONE who buys these things has ever travelled?) Then they will direct you to a "global" website that will redirect you to the same US website you started on.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After deciding between several robot vacuums and having previously owned an iRobot product I decided today to purchase the top of the line Roomba 780. One of the primary reasons was because I would receive the order "next day" on Friday, November 11, 2011. When I placed my order I made sure I read the policy on orders for "next day" delivery which stated that orders received before 10 PM Eastern time would actually arrive the next day. I received a confirmation email stating my Roomba 780 would ARRIVE on or before November 11, 2011 shortly after placing it at 16:00 US CST. But when I looked up the order just now it still shows that it is being "processed" and that it hasn't shipped yet. I called customer support and now I'm being told the Roomba 780 will not arrive until Monday November 14. I didn't pay $41.00 for overnight shipping to have to wait FOUR days to receive it. I've had limited dealings with iRobot but now [$] later I wish I would have tried one of the other robot vacuums. Customer support informed me that they would credit the shipping charges back to me but it's not really about that - after paying [$] I WANTED the package delivered the next day like I paid for. iRobot doesn't care because they now have my [$] and will ship the package when they feel like it. This is the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. Especially with our current economy to think that customers are willing to pay this much for products like these and to completely be disregarded on shipping choices after giving them a specified date is uncalled for and shows their lack of care for customers. I fully regret choosing the iRobot Roomba since I've realized what was promised won't be delivered. [$] I wasted on horrible customer service - I can vacuum my own floors for this price.
