Glad we have Roomba

Makes keeping the floor clean an easy task. Helps maintain wood floors as dirt does NOT get ground into it. Biggest annoyance with Roomba it is loud so we try to run it when we are not home. Also, it can get hung up on certain areas such as stair and or door areas. For some, this is an unavoidable situation and thus a Roomba may not be a good idea. We have had 2 roombas over the past 5 or so years and am glad this product is available. The first was a 550, the second the 780. We have owned the 780 for the last year and a half.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Hassle Free Operation, Large Debris Bin, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Noisy

Good only for small apartments

Robot just wandered around the kitchen, got stuck under a chair, and never completed vacuuming even one room. You must call technical support to discover that it is designed for only 3 rooms of 150 square feet each. If you have an average sized house, this product is a bad idea. There is no sales information on their web site that describes this significant limitation. Technical support was practically unintelligible, utilizing a poor VOIP connection that didn't allow a normal conversation. Connection dropped several times.
Pros: NONE
Cons: Only cleans 3 small rooms

bought a hoover robo com 2 for wifes birthday, it got stuck on the thinnest mats you can buy, got stuck in corners, jammed under lounges and couldnt find its home not once..... but it picked up well. we tried for days we were gutted almost $$$$ down the drain bloody lying salesmen told me it was exactly the same as the i robot romba. we got our money back and bought the i robot romba 780 OMG it is fantastic !!!! we programmed it and off it went, over the mats under the lounges everywhere. best $$$$$$ we have spent !.

Big help with dog hair

This is ideal for keeping up with shedding pets when you have hardwood floors. It keeps me from having to vacuum every day. It does not remove dog hair from carpet, area rugs, etc. Since I have mostly hardwood, it's perfect for me, but do not expect a through carpet vacuuming.

We have owned this for 1 year 2 months and have only used it about 40 times (1 year warranty). It now only states error 1 left and will not work. I replaced both wheels and still the same issue. Would not buy another!!!

A Glorified Carpet Sweeper

Yes, this is great for my back but it does not adequately clean the carpet. It does a superficial job like the old time carpet sweepers our mothers had back in the 50's. It is not adequate to do a thorough cleaning and you will need to keep using a regular vacuum if you want a clean carpet. I am so sorry I spent the money on this and now I can't afford to buy a good, light weight vacuum which is what I really needed in the first place. Don't be fooled by the raves!

Roomba 780 defeats the Mint, Neato, ETC!

The Roomba 780 cleans and looks better than ALL uprights. It cleans even better than the BEST Kirby/Shark/Dyson models! It makes ALL my friends jealous. EVERY time I throw a party, I always turn it on just to show-off!!! One time, my friend thought his Kirby vacuum was better than the Roomba, but he was wrong. I had him vacuum an empty room with it and when he was done, I put Roomba in the middle of the room and pressed Clean. When it was done, you could see that it still found dust/dirt/debris on the carpet and hardwood floor!!!!!!! I love the tune it plays when it begins cleaning and when it returns to its HomeBase to charge. Unlike previous series, the brushes and dust-bin has greatly improved. There are barely any hairs on the brushes! My dog follows it arround everytime it cleans and when it goes under the bed or sofa, it waits for it until it comes out. When it is done cleaning and goes back to the HomeBase to charge, my dog barks as if it was telling me something. People say stupid things like: Oh the Roomba sucks, blah , blah, blah. But they are always wrong and don't know how great this thing it! Along with the Scooba 480 and 230, they make a wonderful trio that every single person, dead or alive should have!!!!!!!
Pros: BETTER THAN THE DYSON VAC, BETTER THAN THE KIRBY VAC, BETTER THAN THE NEATO, BETTER THAN THE SHARK VAC, Easy To Install, Easy To Use, Extends Functionality, Inconspicuous Design, Increases Performance, MAKE FRIENDS JEALOUS, MAKES NIEGHBORS JEALOUS, REPLACES MAID, WAY BETTER THAN THE MINT

After watching the 780 for several months I see that it does not clean the entire house. My house is only about 1500 sf of which all but a 8x12 rug are hard wood. It goes out on it's schedule twice a week while I am gone. Upon my return I see several areas that are not clean of debris and often it is stopped right in tht middle of a room. It does not automatically find it's way back to the recharger when it is getting low as I was lead to believe. Also in my discussion with customer support I was told that the reason it often doesn't get to all areas is that it's battery life is only enough to do about 600 sf!! So if it does make it back to recharge it does not go back out to finish the job. I must take it out manually. What a pain in the rear. They certainly don't tell you this in the product information. I think it does a good job where it goes but that is only about a third of my house.

Cons: Loses Charge Quickly
